Diwali is a tradition passed through generations all across the globe including New York City.
Diwali, The Festival of the lights is celebrated every year by the Hindu community all over the world. It is one of the most cheerful, colorful and enthusiastic celebrations spreading happiness and positivity, embracing the good over the evil. The Stylehopping team had the opportunity to experience this traditional event hosted by Megha Desai, Director of The Desai Foundation.
Over 300 guest attended the 3rd Annual Diwali on the Hudson to support The Desai Foundation which mission is to help the community by promoting better health and education, implementing educational programs to promote Indian culture and heritage in the United States.
All the attendees enjoyed the exotic mix of western, Bhangra and Bollywood Tracks by DJ Rekha, a full open bar, delicious Indian food and desserts courtesy of Desi Galli, The Kulfi Co., and Rajbhog Foods, Inc.
The event was held at Sunset Terrace, Chelsea Piers where a very stylish crowd made this event very enjoyable, all wearing very elegant and fashionable outfits to the event. Nyla Rodgers, (MAMA HOPE), DJ Logic, Kirk Douglas (The Roots), Falu Shah (Singer), Nihal Mehta (ENIAC Ventures), Anu Duggal (Female Founders Fund), Madhuri Parson (Designer), entrepreneurs Kavitha Shukla, Gary Sharma (GarysGuide) and Elisa Miller (Out of Women 2.0) were among the attendees.
